Did you know salsa is made up of many different types of peppers. Some peppers are hot, some are mild, and some peppers are give you a heat with a nice slow burn. One thing is for certain. You can enjoy salsa with a variety of different types of peppers. One thing is for certain, if you like things hot, or not, there is a pepper out there that is just for you. Whew! That is a whole lot of different types of peppers and we haven’t even scratched the surface of the many different types of peppers you can cook with. Did you know you can use peppers fresh or even dried? If your peppers are dried you can simply rehydrate them with a little bit of water, sometimes when you use dried peppers the flavors are more intense than when used them when they were fresh.
You can also dry many different types of peppers very easily. I like to purchase peppers when they are in season, or when I find them on sale in my grocery store. I simply slice them up thin, and put them in my dehydrator overnight. You could also slice your peppers up thin and dehydrate your different types of peppers by placing them on a cookie sheet in a warm but dry place for about 24 hours hours. If you dry your peppers they take up less space, so you can dry up lots of peppers.
Why not try some of these many different types of peppers in your cooking? You can use many different types of peppers in making salsa or even your every day type of cooking. If you don’t like your peppers too hot, when you cut your peppers remove the seeds from the insides, a lot of heat is packed inside those tiny seeds.
